Discovery College is a member school of the English Schools Foundation. The College opened in 2008 in new, purpose-built campus in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong in August 2008. Teacher of PYP Art (16 Apr to 24 Jun 2018)

Responsibilities

We are seeking to appoint a temporary full-time Teacher of PYP Art to cover a period of maternity leave from 16 April to 24 June 2018.

This vacancy occurs as we seek to replace a member of staff who is going on maternity leave. We are looking for an experienced teacher to cover Primary Visual Art. If you are a person who likes to work collaboratively with other enthusiastic teachers, believes in the philosophy of the IB and genuinely loves working with students, we would like to hear from you.

Main Accountabilities
• Instruct students in art, which include painting, sketching, designing, and sculpturing
• Observe and evaluate student's work and identify area of interests
• Lead students to field trips in visiting museums and art galleries
• Planning lessons and sequences of lessons to meet student's individual learning needs and to ensure student's progression
• Using a range of appropriate strategies for teaching and learning and classroom management

Requirements

Minimum Typical Education
Bachelor Degree in Education, or
Bachelor Degree in any subjects with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education), or
equivalent

Minimum Typical Experience
1-3 years teaching experience within a recognised educational organization, Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate PYP (Primary Years Programme) would be an advantage.
