Teacher of Textiles (Starting Aug 2020)

We are seeking a full or part time Teacher of Textiles to be proactively involved in the development of our students as emerging young designers and artists. The successful candidate should have proven abilities regarding personal organisation and a range of creative processes that embrace contemporary textiles practice.

As part of the wider Design Faculty, you will collaborate to nurture and celebrate textiles, creative thinking and open mindedness. As part of a dynamic team whose mission is to help every learner achieve their personal best, you will develop curriculum and teach using the MYP framework for students aged 11-14. During Year 10, students choose a range of iGCSEs they wish to complete and you will also be teaching iGCSE Textiles.

Experience of teaching in a second area is desirable, for example food or BTEC Art and Design. Please refer to other curriculum areas which you can contribute to as part of your application.


• Bachelor Degree in Education, or Bachelor Degree in the subject with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education), or equivalent
• Experience of teaching the subject across the full age and ability range up to and including Year 13 (IB Higher or equivalent)
• Previous full-time teaching experience
• Commitment to inclusion
• Evidence of leading or contributing to an extra-curricular programme of events
• Pro-active, adaptable and passionate team player able to share responsibility for the development of curriculum and pedagogy
